Geoff and I picked up our new glasses last night. I am so thrilled with Geoff's! It is pretty exciting because he can see better now, in his week-old prescription. For a while he had a hard time using analogue cameras because he couldn't see well enough to focus properly! Also his last pair were a mess of glue & dust.
My glasses are, as far as I'm concerned, a disaster. I don't mean to sound incredibly vain, but it's safe to say I hate how they look on my face. I suppose I'm lucky in that at least I can wear my contact lenses and really only need glasses for the evening. I ordered these (the Flannery in the grey) and I am sure that they are all wrong for me. They emphasis how large my nose is, the colour isn't right for me... blah. Here is a picture of me putting on my shoes while wearing them (shortly before I flung them off in frustration & unhappiness). Oh well. That's what you get when you make an expensive purchase in haste.
I want to see them! They look awesome! (send me a secret pic!) I'm sure you look freaking HOT!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I am sure they are much cuter, really! But it's important that you feel alright with them, of course. It is hard though. Glasses are such a pain :( I wish I had chosen a more basic color for mine, instead of red. Fuzz.
ReplyDeleteGeoff's look fantastic! 1 our of 2 is pretty good :)
From the side, they look lovely! But I totally understand your insecurity. I feel quite confident that everything makes my nose look huge.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that! I prefer contact lenses, too, glasses just don't look right
ReplyDeleteoh how disappointing! my frames are about eight years old, i was going through a ghost world phase.. i would love a pair of lavender granny glasses i think, attached to a silver chain of course.
ReplyDeleteI bought some glasses(frameless) that I never wear (I feel self conscious) unless I am in the dark alias movie theater or I am actually driving which I have not done for a while (New York City is a little bit too crazy for me). I can't wear contact lenses. I am sure your glasses look lovely on you. I saw pictures of you on your previous post. You look good. you have your own unique style.
ReplyDeleteI understand your frustration hun! I actually like my new glasses, but they just don't fit right on me. Urgh. I'm contantly readjusting them, or they're sliding, etc. I'm about to make the move to contacts.
ReplyDeletexo.
You are all very sweet! I think what it comes down to is that I am just not a glasses person! You'd think I would be by now, as I have been wearing them since I was 10 years old! I just feel weird in them, can't help it. xo!
ReplyDeleteI too just bought new frames, after wearing my back-up for months when my current glasses broke. I dread buying new ones; I don't wear contacts so picking out the right frames is a big ordeal. Geoff's look great, hopefully you'll come to like yours.
ReplyDeletehahaha! aww! I love the last photo! made me smile. I too have made purchases in haste to then regret my decision immensely.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like my glasses at first either, but I've had them for a year now and I think it's more of a growing into them thing.
ReplyDeleteBesides, I'm sure you look amazing!
