making christmas

I tend to prefer simple, pretty decorations that I wouldn't mind having on display all year long. I also like it when I can fit it all into a $25 budget -- which does mean there won't be any tree but last year's tiny white tree, but that's okay. Our apartment sparkles!

  5. anabela! i love love that lion ornament! and the birch trees remind me of one of my favorite movies - the science of sleep - where they make little trees and place them in a small boat. great job with the decorations!

  6. Thanks, everyone! The lion ornament is a Jonathan Adler ornament from last year or the year before -- I think he puts out new ones every year? Anyhow, I found it at Winners for not a lot of money! And the birch tree is actually from (gasp) Wal-Mart!

How obvious is it that I live across the street from the Dufferin Mall!

  7. Oh Anabela, your home is so beautiful. I agree with Ayalah, that lion is amazing, love it! Good work with the twinkle lights. I think I'm going to bring some back with me from the big box stores of MB to bring some light into the apartment all year long. I was tempted by a charlie brown-like tree this evening on my walk home. But alas, I'll be gone in a week.
