Thanks for weighing in on the shoulder pad question and for revealing to me your very strong feelings on the issue -- but I'm keeping them in! For now, anyhow. They'll be useful the next time I have to make my way through a crowd. "Huge shoulders, coming through!"

Yes to that! Love it.
ReplyDeleteoh, yes yes yes to shoulder pads...women in the 40s had the right idea and I love to see them coming back, especially when juxtaposed with sleeker tailoring (as opposed to some of those baggy man jackets that came out as part of "powersuits" in the 80s)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered shoulder pads in a jacket of mine--somehow hadn't noticed them for at least three weeks of ownership :P
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing worse than stealth shoulder pads! Work 'em, but only if you know they're there!

ReplyDeleteI think you look gorgeous, and I'm not a shoulder pad fan. Mind you I grew up with my Mom sporting them built into her bra. It looked like football gear, I won't even lie. What a sweet, sweet photo. It makes me just want to hug you! Rock the shoulder pads girl.
ReplyDeleteLovely!!
ReplyDeletep.s i still wear my headband. a lot :]
gorgeous sweater! i am very jealous.
ReplyDeleteI think you made the right choice! The Cherry Blossom girl has been inspiring me loads lately, she's left me wanting clothes that I previously wouldn't even have considered!

ReplyDeleteI'm generally against shoulder pads but you totally make these work. I'm glad you decided to keep them in.
ReplyDeletePS. I gave you an award on my blog!
LOVE them, rock it proudly.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the pro-shoulder pad crowd, that look is what feels most exciting right now. I am not a convert yet, I am such a slow adapter and well, was a teenager in the 80's, but a strong shoulder is a wonderful silhouette.
ReplyDeletelove your smirk! you look so happy!
ReplyDeleteShoulder pads are a yes! I dig 'em.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a contest for a limited Edition Jimmy Choo tote. You should totez send a shot of you in your shoes!!!

loving shoulder pads at the moment, you made the right choice !
ReplyDeletei am glad you're leaving in the shoulder pads! it's so hard to find an item of clothing that actually looks good with them in, and it certainly seems like you've come across one. also i am much more sympathetic to shoulder pads now that i know they were inspired by 40s fashion. regardless, that sweater looks so perfect on you.
ReplyDeletethey're going to look fabulous!!!
ReplyDeletei Love LOVE this photo of you!
ReplyDeleteI love your haircut
