Thank you for the
men's shirt making encouragement. Thank you too for the book recommendations -- I love books about sewing! I am a little intimidated, but I hope it works out and I hope I can produce something wearable. Geoff has such a hard time with fit, as I imagine many skinny dudes do, and he wears button-down shirts exclusively. Every single day!
If it doesn't work out, there is always
Brooklyn Tailors. I came upon
their Etsy shop yesterday and was glad to see they make slim fit shirts in sizes from XXS to XL. How I would love to order a
bespoke suit for Geoff! That suit is incredible.
These last two pictures make me think of the movie
Il posto.
my husband is going to love this!
ReplyDeletegreat find, anabela! this is exactly what matthew needs.
ReplyDeleteThey have a lovely store but the prices are a bit too high for them to be in my reality : (
ReplyDeletecute model, too!
ReplyDeleteooh i love this!! in lieu of bespoke shirts steven alan's great shirts for guys and girls are great. but i think a bespoke suit is highighigh on the wishlist for both me and my boyfriend :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos, too! Richard also has a really hard time finding shirts that fit well (like you said, skinny..and also tall), in fact when we were looking for wedding attire a woman in a menswear store actually laughed out loud and said there was no way we'd find something pre-made! We ended up finding a shirt at Value Village, and I just took it in for him :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting about the Etsy shop! My husband is also hard to fit. He is a bit, er, unskinny. He assumed his hard-to-fitness was due to being unskinny, and was happy to hear he is not the only one with this problem. Here is the website he has been drooling over: http://www.duchessclothier.com/
ReplyDeleteI love the immaculate tailoring of these pieces- so crisp in a European kinda way.
ReplyDeletebeautiful - they remind me of Band of Outsiders.
ReplyDeleteWowwww, cute guy! I love the first photo.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys like them! I think the model is super cute, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we could all swap stories about our hard-to-fit menfolk!
too funny! this is my pal Danny's shop. he is also the guy in the pictures.
