I have spoiled myself rotten with so many frivolous toy camera purchases this year (I know I know I know), but I just acquired another camera that, I am sure, will be the end of it. It can't really be topped, anyhow: it is the Shironeko Holga! It is RIDICULOUS. I came across it on the Four Corners Dark blog and was intrigued, because it uses lights & sounds to attract the attention of cats! I love taking pictures of cats on the street, but they're usually aloof (or so completely starved for attention that they start following me home). I showed it to Tara, fellow lover of CatCon ("cat content"), and after sleeping on it, I was pretty convinced that we both needed one camera each. They arrived yesterday: oh happy day!
I am so enamoured of this thing that Oreo and I even made a little video to demonstrate the sound & light capabilities. Oreo pretends to be completely indifferent, but I know she digs it. I never thought I'd see the day when I posted a video of myself, but such is the power of hilarious, hilarious CatCon. I'm curious (like a cat!) to see what the pictures will look like.
REPLIES: happiness nuggets
Kempt: I have to admit that I bought the Turkish Delight in part because I wanted to photograph it! Luckily it is also delicious. I love that: blush and kitten noses! Yes!
Miss Crowland: I told you already but I'll repeat it in case anyone else in Toronto is curious: Arabesque on College at Crawford. They have lemon and rose, and a container is only $2.
Hope Chella: Thank you!
erin: Aw, that's okay! I wish that Turkish Delight is in your future.
nice-etc.com / caitlin: You could never be dumpy, pretty pretty girl.
erica-knits: Thanks! Oh, what a decision to make! I think that long flowing waves around your face would look so pretty. But you can pull off any hairstyle you want. You will try Turkish Delight soon enough! It is delicious. What's not to love about sugar, starch, and rosewater?
Megan: I love that you mentioned the Chronicles of Narnia! Turkish Delight always makes me think of those books, too. The nail polish is (eep!) just from Urban Outfitters. Super cheap. Not the best, but who cares.
hibou: Oh yikes, I never think about how old is too old... but then I intend to have long hair when I'm an old, old lady.
Lexie: Great! I never know how to wear eyeliner but I like the way it looks like this. Who knew?
sn: Thank you! I agree, I love the soft eye pencils. I have a gold one by Laura Mercier that is so lovely.
Caroline, No.: It was just passing for me -- I looked at my face and thought it looked so severe.
Editor: Thank you!
