playing with others
Cool news! We're going to take part in this pop-up shop with a few of our friends in May: Victoire, Preloved, Robber (it's their 2 year anniversary today! Congratulations, guys!), White Elephant, & YarnOverMovement. Looking at my April/May calendar makes me feel a lil' bit crazy, but this event is going to be so fun that it will all be worth it.
The Facebook event page is here. I whipped up the poster, which is probably pretty obvious, and Erin from Robber came up with the name.
This picture is a sneak peek at the tote we designed with Summerland, although this one here is unfinished. I can't wait to share it for real.
The little purse is a Swedish Hasbeens one that I won on eBay one day when I was probably feeling a little sad or possibly anxious about the London trip (am I the only one who dreams of a whole new wardrobe when going away even for a few days?). I thought I would get outbid for sure... and then I didn't.
Yesterday I found myself looking at this photo by Siri for maybe the one thousandth time when I was inspired to start a Tumblr of pictures taken from the window seat ("window seat" was taken, so "siège fenêtre" was the best my half-hungover brain could do in the two minutes I gave myself to think about it). Sweet Diana will be helping me with it. Magic.
Amazing Picnic at Hanging Rock poster from Elise.
REPLIES
Hannah Percyowl: I hope there will be one day soon! I know what you mean about ordering things without trying them on first. I've definitely gotten myself into some trouble with that one, especially when it comes to vintage dresses that look so pretty online.
Kate: A world of high fives.
Caitlin Rose, NICOMADE, erin, EvaForeva, Nesha, Britty: Thank you all!
KERRY: Glasses are so hard. I got my first pair of glasses when I was 10 and I've only just started to enjoy wearing them! 22 years later. See you at the show!
anna sargent: Aw, that is so sweet. Thank you.
bigfea: Done and done!
Katie: Thanks, glad you enjoyed that silly sweater! Aw, that's too bad, girl!
twiggs: I agree! Contacts can be so troublesome after a while.

you are not alone in the "get an entire new wardrobe before trip" theory.
ReplyDeleteI have it in a major way.
Oh my, that purse! Do you mind sharing how much you ended up winning the auction for? I'm so curious! :)
ReplyDeleteMan, I love photos from the windows of airplanes, but I can't remember the last time I took one because I'm SO claustrophobic I MUST sit on the aisle seat. So I'll just live variously through that beauty on your blog. Works! ps. stoked for the new tote, gotta have it. gotta gotta.
ReplyDeleteYou would love photographer Arden Wray's "Atlas" series: http://www.ardenwray.com/index.php?album=atlas
ReplyDeleteShe's from Toronto, too!
Hi, I love the Window Seat idea, are you taking submissions for it? I have a photo I took of Manhattan out of a plane window that I like. I think people always think I am crazy when they see me taking photos out the window.
ReplyDeleteOh, the poster! I'm so happy you like it!
ReplyDeleteI'm already following your window seat tumblr...I think flying might be my favourite thing ever, and the window seat is obviously the best option...I might have even tried to steal the window seat from a pregnant lady on my last flight (was sadly, or perhaps, appropriately, stopped by a flight attendant).
ReplyDeleteI might try to make it to the Hamilton show. Just got my driver's licence (8 years late) and it would be good practice on the highway. I'd also love chance to see James street as I just applied for one of their 'art crawl' shows.
I love the concept of your new blog, I just started a new one too - I'm pretty much a compulsive collector of images.
ReplyDeleteI love the new tumblr - perhaps we will see you for Field Trip, I think we're heading out for my birthday! xo
ReplyDeleteYour blog makes me happy. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea for the "siège fenêtre" blog. I fly often, and one of my favorite things to do is compile a playlist for the trip, to prepare me for the destination. If it's to some place tropical and luxurious: Astrud Gilberto; If it's home or some place full of memories: maybe Innocence Mission. Gives my sometimes unchanging view from the window seat a new perspective.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I contribute to a travel blog on Tumblr (blog.flight001.com) which may be the one you mention but if it's not check it out, we have great inspirational travel photos (and there is a "window seat" photo up today!) Looking forward to following siège fenêtre and, of course, travel always means a new wardrobe to match!
ReplyDeletecannot wait! nervous already, but its gonna be good. we should perhaps make some kind of spiked spring punch too.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the new tote! I will need it for my collection, naturally. Your new tumblr reminded me to post some of my window shots. I always love pulling my camera out to take shots out the window with a stranger in the next sea.
ReplyDeleteI hope I can rent a car to spend a day in the Hammer and visit the pop-up!
I'm excited about the event, I should be able to make it. and I like your purse, I never know what to pick for purses, but I like this one.

Absolutely not! I leave for Ireland, Scotland, Wales and London next week and I feel as if I don't have the wardrobe I'm needing, yet!
ReplyDeleteYeah, talk about nice accidents. We are planning to be in Hamilton for the weekend of the "Field Trip" pop up shop. Looking forward to coming by and seeing all of your lovely goods in person!!
ReplyDeleteohh i'm so excited to check this out! i'm going to be part of the art crawl too for a textile show, and i can't wait to check out this field trip shop!
