other people's houses: the opening
I had such a good time at the opening for Other People's Houses. I had gone to meet Kate at the airport that morning and we went straight to CAMP, where Vic and a friend were installing that cool yellow stripe along the windows -- so striking! I didn't get many photos that night (my shaky hands + bulb setting = blurry!) but we were introduced to some really wonderful people, including Brian, and spent the night chatting away. It's so funny to think of how many people I met for the first time that day (including Kate & Vic), but it didn't feel that way at all, mostly because everyone was warm and welcoming and sweet. It was a fantastic night, capped with a visit to Nightjar.
Thank you to Elle, Claire, and Siobhan for coming as well. It was so lovely to meet you.
(My favourite picture from the show was of an embroidered cat pillow, taken by Kris Atomic, and I should have bought it! All of the pictures that were submitted will be on the OPH website soon, I believe.)

Tiffany: I'm glad you like it!
Celine: I know, it's like a dream for me, and I didn't have anything to do with it! So beautiful.
The Veda House: Thank you! I'm so thrilled with how well the tote fit.
Lele: Thank you!
Rizie: Aw! Let's talk about it via email! Sounds great.

Samantha: They should be on the Summerland site in a few weeks. We just have to finish them up and ship them off. It's taken a bit longer than I had hoped it would.
Lexie, Little Boat: Such a marvelous video. I think I've seen it 200 times now.
miniaturerhino: Seriously, Anja just keeps getting better and better. It's amazing.

OH! This made me feel a bit weepy.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a lovely time. Seeing all those photographs up on the wall like that make me miss my undergraduate days when I had deadlines and framing sessions. I should definitely work on my photography more, I miss it so.
ReplyDeleteYAY! So excited to finally see some pictures, it all looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight to see these! Thanks Anabela. And you know, any time I start to thing that blogging is pointless/narcissistic/whatever, I think about these kinds of experiences and the great people I've had the chance to meet or connect with, and there's really no doubt in my mind that it's all kinds of worth it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Maybe this is my first time on your site but i fall in love in your photos!
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to meet you too! I was so glad I was brave enough to come down and say hello - Ben and I really enjoyed chatting to you both and the pictures were lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'm very much enjoying seeing London the way you saw it now too - you stop appreciating the little things when you actually live in a country I guess, so it's nice to re-appreciate and notice them again!
