bicyclette

Bicyclette recently started carrying our totes, and the other day I stopped by to take some pictures of the shop. It's a sweet confection of a shop, filled with pretty lacy clothes and decorated with carefully collected antiques and neon. I definitely recommend that you stop by for a visit one day. Say hello to Paige, Emma, and Emily before you head to Trinity Bellwoods park to hang out in the grass and have cotton candy dreams.

Bicyclette is located at 880 Queen St. West. The shop also has a very cute blog.

(It's an ultra-rare dip-dyed "Dream" tote!)

REPLIES

julie: Absolutely! I had it in my head for days.

Celine: I know, I'm not into this cold at all! And thank you!

sheila: Furnace! Oh no. And thanks, I'm glad you liked the pics! It's nice and warm today!

Rizie: I like the idea of droves of people carrying those guys!

Robin, curious constellation, Jessica, thrillofthechaise.com, Elise / Pennyweight, Michaela, herecomesthesun, chelsea, katie: Thank you! Yes, it was a really lovely way to spend a few hours & celebrate Ryan's birthday.

zoƫ, lion heart vintage: We actually do have a sailing inspired tote in the works...! The tote won't make you seasick, I promise.

anja: Yeah dude! Although when I'm actually on a boat I wonder if I prefer the idea of being on a boat more than being on the boat... you know? I guess it depends on the scenery and what happens to be stocked in the bar!

Darcy: Oh yeah, I would pine too! Funny you should mention denim...!

Alyson Redding: Oh, nice. I haven't spent that much time on boats myself, although I have nearly tipped a few canoes over the years!

Caitlin Rose: There are ships that you can go on near the water. If you go down to the foot of Simcoe Street there are boat tours and things like that. This one was $25. I wish I knew fancy people who owned fancy boats!

Gaelan @ Uschi and Kay: That is so funny! It was a pretty nice ship. We passed one that was a real heap (the Aurora Borealis, the party boat!) which made this one seem even nicer.

  5. What a cute shop! I did stop in one day awhile ago for a quick look, but I will have to go again. I want a dip-dye tote! (this postal strike is both distressing and a blessing to my credit card). Of course, I love that foxy corner. :)

  11. I still have to make my way in there....it's not often that I find myself in that area. I usually enter Trinity Bellwoods by way of Dundas Street.

  12. @mcmooatl Hi!- The bow belts are from Brave, a local Toronto company. They're not currently available on the website unfortunately, only in the shop!

  16. i've been meaning to check bicyclette out since i saw its amazingly cute neon sign (how can you say no to a shop that has not one, but two?! i'm smitten) and lovely window display...and that was about a month ago. dang. i really need to get on that! it looks awesome. :)

ps. know where to get yummy-smelling local peonies? all my neighbours have bushes but i'm too nice to sneak out at night+clip some, and i can't find any in the flower shops near me!

pps. totally found that abandoned building in dufferin grove that you posted shots from. loooovely. why don't they make apts like that anymore? anyway, there was totally a guy pretending to fight someone, martial-arts style, in the backyard when we visited. hilarious.
