we live in other people's houses

I'm happy to report that the website for Other People's Houses, a project by Vic that I participated in along with some incredibly talented people, is now up. My set is here.

"The self-portrait"

"The inadvertent product placement"

I was flattered to have been asked to participate, as I was with 1010. Attending the opening in London with Kate will always be one of my favourite parts of 2011. Thank you, Vic!

The participants: Jacinta Moore, Kate Miss, Ebony Bizys, Michelle Gow, Pia Jane Bijkerk, Hilda Grahnat, Brian W. Ferry, Kris Atomic, and of course, Victoria Hannan.

REPLIES

marissa (stylebook): I'm coming! And I know, a whole year! We don't know exactly when her birthday is, but it's definitely some time in July... one year ago she was living in the garden!

Sharks Keep Moving: I'm glad you like it! It's kind of silly, I know.

Kate: Yeah, it's so easy! Just a little button near the shutter release that you push in.

kaitlyn: Thank you!

Alyson Redding: There's a little button near the shutter release. You can get a manual here! http://www.butkus.org/chinon/canon/canon_a-1/canon_a-1.htm The lens I have is a Canon 50mm f/1.8 that it came with.

bigBANG studio: Yeah, it's great! I'll pass your birthday wishes along to the birthday girl. She'll be sure to bite my face.

in dreams: Hmm, I'm not sure. Did I tell you about the embroidery floss at The Workroom? It's Cosmo brand. I don't know if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

Siobhan: Ha! Perfect Saturday, then.

ThisTinder: Nice! I wish I could find my old tapes. They seem to have disappeared, although I remember selling hundreds of them at Driftwood Music a thousand years ago. Yes, I grew up in Toronto! The first few years of my life we lived in the Christie Pits area, and then moved a bit north west of there.

EvaForeva: Thank you!

amy w - over and under: It's true, it's hard for me to remember anything bad really happening, although I know bad things did happen, and I remember being sad a lot. Luckily most of what I remember involves careening down a hill on my bike and laughing a lot.

Dianne: Ha! I know that sound, and it is so annoying!

Caroline Hancox: Nice!

aldrin: Ha! I'm glad you did. I don't think anyone really gets my weird sense of humour.

  7. OPH is so gorgeous. Would have been amazing to see in person. Your house has changed a lot since I saw it last, I love all the changes you have made. I think the two photos of Geoff are my favorite. Your house is so full of light and beautiful objects, you've captured it so well.

  11. Love your set and my favorite has to be the photo of the clothes piled on the dresser. I think I can relate to it the most, I may be a clothes piler.

  18. Oooooh my goodness; I just noticed that Geoff is reading a Fresh cookbook. Love! (er, Fresh, not your boyfriend; that would be a terribly awkward thing to say.)
