On Saturday Geoff woke up early & told me to look out the window to see the fog (I probably raised my head and fell back asleep). Fog is pretty rare around here, and so he hopped in the car and drove to High Park to take some pictures of Grenadier Pond.
These were taken with the Spectra and expired Softtone film, at around 7.30 in the morning. I love how spooky and otherworldly the pictures turned out.

Rebekka Seale: Oh yes, I am so unmotivated!
Sharks Keep Moving: Oh nice, I didn't realize! And thank you -- I hope you get there.
hila: You're very welcome! And yes, for sure. It's probably the main reason why I prefer desaturated tones to very vivid colour. I like to be chillllll.
These are officially milky!!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful. i love fog.
ReplyDeleteLovely - especially the first image. I miss fog a lot. I'm excited for mist when I go home (though now what it does to my hair!)
ReplyDeletegorgeous.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos. I love how peaceful and calm they are. I love how my daughter always says "froggy" instead of "foggy"
ReplyDelete:-)
beautiful! very 'milky'...
ReplyDeleteanabela, these are so cinematic! Fog always reminds me of early spring mornings - so there is always something expectant about it.
ReplyDeletewe saw that fog when we drove into toronto saturday - there was a very low cloud around downtown, it was the strangest thing (we went to see abstract expressionist exhibit at AGO). it was blue sky, normal weather, and this low lying cloud. bizarre! love your pics of high park - i want to take my boys to dream in high park some day. did you go this year? your pics are very 'dream in high park' :) beautiful!
ReplyDeletethese are so dreamy! He clearly has some photography talent
ReplyDeleteThesea are totally breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteLook at you. You've conquered the milk pix look. I'm still trying to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteI love these. You and your husband seem to be the power couple of photography.
ReplyDeletei love the idea of you getting out of bed early all excited and heading out with your camera at 7:30am. these are breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteWow, these are super cool. I just moved from Sweden and we would have the thickest fog while I rode the train through the countryside on my way to work. Incredible.
ReplyDeletei was wondering how the softtone really looked (the impossible project doesn't really have stellar examples of the difference between it and the regular spectra). i just ordered 10 packs of it, too! the last of the last, so i hope i like it (not hate it, not love it) so that it lasts.
ReplyDeletemore to the subject, these are lovely shots. does geoff have his own website where he posts shots? he's pretty good at hitting the mood of high park well, esp. in fog! :)
yay for Geoff - I love these. He takes such good pictures.
ReplyDeleteThese pics are just incredible....
ReplyDeleteGeoff rulez!
hahahaaaa ;D
I want to live in the world of these! I usually see fog in the morning here, especially because I leave so early for work, but it's never so warm and thickly drippy looking like these, it ends up cold and sort of moldy-damp instead.
ReplyDeleteahhh these are amazing! love them. there's something about fog that really draws you into a photo...i guess it's the mysterious nature haha
ReplyDeletei feel i just dreamed them...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeletebeauuuutiful. i love the second one. there is something so special about that time of day, hey?
ReplyDeletei feel really cliche calling this dreamy, but i can't help echoing the rest of the commenters. SO DREAMY.
ReplyDeletejust beautiful. I love the fog. I love how it makes me feel (inside & outside). I get this dreamy, mellow feel and when I step outside into the dewy air, I just love how the entire outside feels like a humidifier. I need to live in a place where the fog blankets over the sky.
ReplyDeleteWow, wow and then some. If there is anything I am looking forward to once our English autumns hit, it's foggy mornings. You've captured it beautifully...
ReplyDeleteThese shots are amazing. Thanks for sharing the infos about the films used x
