While Bre is off in Mexico and before she launches the full spring line, I thought I would share a few more images from Friday. I ended up with about 400, so yeah, there are quite a lot. I still can’t get over how beautiful Monika is and how beautiful her makeup was (blush to the max, always and forever). It's funny: the vibe of Bre’s work is generally so beachy and “bohemian,” but this shoot turned out so pretty & springlike. I, of course, adore that.
For this shoot—I say that as though I have shoots all the time—I used a mix of Fujipro 400H and 160S as well as Kodak Portra 160. The 160 shots are a bit peachier and milkier.
(The clutches in this pile are just calling my name.)
Seriously she is like my dream babe. That pout! Amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend just leant over and asked me what I was looking at and I was all 'what no! Its the photos! i like the photos!'
I do like the photos as well! I have a hit and miss relationship with Porta. I think mine was well expired and it was like everything was in a snow storm. Sad times.
More more more! xx
She really is a dream babe! It's crazy because hair & makeup transformed her into a totally different person. And she could turn that pout on & off so easily. It was amazing.
DeleteYou & Geoff did such an awesome job with the photography! Also, the blush kills me. I WIIIIIISH it was something I could do, but I'm always so flushed anyway. I love how the combination of aesthetics is so clear (like you said, the fieldguided vibe on s&c items), you guys are just built for permanent spring.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, that means a lot! I love the tons of blush look but I worry that I would just look like a kook who just found out what blush is.
DeleteLove these photos, such nice colors!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOH MY. Really beautiful. Which camera did you use, the A-1? :)
ReplyDeleteFor these ones, yes, although I think there might be one from my Olympus in there as well.
Deletebeautiful photos! love the color palette :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYou totally killed it. Great job, Anabela & Geoff - you guys are amazing.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks so much!
Deleteso gorgeous - you two did an incredible job with the photos. DREAM TEAM
ReplyDeleteAw shucks, lady! Thank you!
Delete(Although really we had very great direction!)
DeleteBah, Anabela, all I want is to collaborate with you on a shoot one of these days. Film, flowers, blush pink, rhinestones...I want it all!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I need to know what the situation is with the black constellations (?) top in the second to last photo. Is that just a big t-shirt with the sleeves rolled I am seeing? I love it!!
Oh man, that would be AMAZING! We didn't have rhinestones but we did have gold glitter hearts... unfortunately they aren't the most photogenic.
DeleteYeah, I think that's what it is, and it's pretty great. All the clothes belong to Bre, and a good portion of them are thrift store finds.
The photography is just wonderful Anabela! It's so lovely to see the mix of Bre's and your sensibilities (Anabela+Geoff) in these images. I think this may be your calling. Styling and photography. There are worse things to do for work. Am I right? LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you! And yes, definitely worse things!
DeleteAnabela, you and Geoff did an amazing job on the photos. Love the double exposure ones shown on S & C's site. Looks like a calling worth pursuing! (Juli from Mjolk)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I wish!
DeleteBabelicious, all across the board. And 400 film shots?? Damn. I want to do my next shoot all film, I'm always too nervous too and that is dumb!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, nooo! That would have been so expensive. More than half were digital.
DeleteAnd PS - you should try it! I definitely needed the digital for backup since some of the shots ended up too grainy to use (not many, but some... although Bre wanted a bit of grain too)
Deleteooo, lovely. i think blush-coloured roses are the perfect complement to bre's collection...and your shots are so fun! :)
ReplyDeleteThe roses were so perfect! They had tones of mauve and pink in them. Just lovely. I have a few on the mantle and they're really beyond dead right now but I can't bring myself to toss them.
Deletei know that feeling! i try to dry mine so i can keep them around longer, but roses are tough once the petals start dropping off.
Deleteanabela & geoff! I have always loved your photos and I am so amazed with the images from this shoot! congratulations! You've really taken it to the next level! xo
ReplyDeleteCeline, thanks so much! That means a lot to me, coming from you!
DeleteI totally want makeup lessons on how to look like that every day. You guys did such a good job! The double exposures in the lookbook are so good!
ReplyDeleteI think I've narrowed down my wants to the indigo scarf and glitter clutch, but man, it's all sooo good.
Ugh, seriously. I admire makeup artists so much, and Elena was totally ON IT. So good. And thanks!
Deletei LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoot you did for Scout and Catalogue. It really is beautiful. The double exposures with the flowers are my absolute favourites xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteSo perfect. Congratulations on a job really well done. Amongst everything, I wicked want those Roses for Valentine's Day. I hope my boyfriend is reading this...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rosie! Maybe send him a link, haha.
Deletereally beautiful shots!! i love the floral crown. such a pretty aesthetic you guys brought to the shoot.
ReplyDeleteand isn't portra 160 the best? such a shame.
Thanks, Hollie! It's so great. I just bought 5 rolls, but I wish I could afford to buy FIFTY. I'd always thought I preferred the cool tones of Fuji to Kodak, so it's always nice to be surprised like that.
DeleteIncredible work! A complete meeting of minds and style - perfect pairing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane!
Deleteyeahh!! you guys did such an awesome..PRETTY..job! so cool! :D go anabela and geoff!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl!
