Spring is in the air. Spring is always in the air in my head/heart.
1. Magdalena Frackowiak’s beautiful face. The hunt for peach/coral lipstick begins. Clarins Joli Rouge in Melon, maybe?
2. That Blouse record will definitely always represent late winter 2012 to me. I love these pictures of the band’s singer, Charlie Hilton.
3. Cool cassette, Caitlin.
4. Lisa Eldridge posted her “brow shrine” from one of the London Fashion Week shows which made me think of Brooke (the shrine does say “Think Brooke”)—I love this image of her.
5. Love this drawing from Ashley’s journal.
6. Also love (I have so much love!) seeing the Cursive Design Shield necklace in Foam magazine.
I adore Jacinta’s photography and especially adore this lookbook that she shot for her friend’s jewelry line, Two Hills. She does that peachy/creamy/milky thing so well.
7. Okay, so of course I can only have these Étoile Isabel Marant sneakers in my dreams, but as someone who grew up in the 1980s and who did NOT appreciate her double-tongue Paula Abdul for Reebok hi-tops nearly enough at the time (how I wish I still had that pair of peach-accented hi-top perfection), these fill me with nostalgia in the best way possible and ooooohhhh I love them.
8. I know this Dusen Dusen lookbook is everywhere, but it’s so good it’s worth repeating.
9. Natasha Nicole illustrated some of the contents of my over-stuffed bag (I am so gauche, you guys: here is proof) and the little cheeks she put on the kitten face (the cover of my Jetoy journal) make me melt. So sweet. I also love the little peony detail she added to the bottom of my portrait! I wouldn’t mind a peony bunch under my face at all times, really.
10. Wolcott : Takemoto has a pretty amazing fall collection. Nothing like a good blouse. Nothing!
11. Alyson posted about Maison Scotch, and now hiiiiii all I want to do is go hang out in France or Spain or Italy (not too picky) while wearing a chambray shirt and the best sunglasses ever.
12. Again, another collection that has been posted everywhere, but that’s because it’s incredible. Jil Sander fall 2012, I want you in my closet.

Gorgeous as always. That peachy-pink lip is too pretty.
ReplyDeleteAlso, re: tiny bags. Ok, I HATE scrambling in my bag to find everything, but what the heck? I NEED MY STUFF. NEED IT. When I try a bag with compartments, I just can't remember which compartment was for what. So, bag ladying it up is where it's at. Whatever.
I agree! I like the idea of going out with nothing but my keys, debit card, phone, and a lipstick, but if I have actual stuff to do that day, forget it! Multiple bags it is!
DeleteI thought I was only after some purple-ish lipstick, but now there's another colour I'm a bit in love with. Wish I'd spotted it before summer was over, but oh well!
ReplyDeleteQuite envious of that cassette! <3
I have yet to pick up a purple lipstick although after a little item about purple lipstick on Refinery 29 I almost did... not thoroughly convinced about it (for me)!
DeleteYou could try Revlon Colourburst Lip butter in Tutti Fruiti? I got that, though it's not a long wear, more like the texture of a better stay lipgloss? It's my fave right now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I picked it up and it's a bit more orange, but I like it. I tried mixing it with a pink lipstick and I liked the effect.
DeleteMight finally take the Karen Walker plunge, using my March 4th birthday as an excuse. I like Korres' lip butters and think pomegranate (which I REALLY like) or mango would give a similar look as Magdalena's? Prrretty.
ReplyDeleteOh hey, happy birthday! I don't even know if you'll see this, so I should click over to your blog. That would be the best present to yourself EVER.
Deletethose rings are so dainty! loev them
ReplyDeleteAgreed! So pretty.
Deleteoh lord, i am 99% certain i had those exact reeboks... if not those then some that were very very similar. i also had those reeboks you could pump with air. for a non-athletic child i had a weird obsession with sneakers.
ReplyDeleteI did too -- I remember begging for my first pair of Nikes, which were basically Tretorns with a swoosh on them. Those Reeboks were pretty amazing!
DeleteI covet Brooke Shield's eyebrows. And I'm loving your repositories, keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeletegilead in bloom
Thanks so much!
Deleteequal love for jacinta's work and that 'time to be bad' poster made me laugh!
ReplyDeletePretty adorable, right? I just adore it!
DeleteCoral lipstick: I've got one! The brand new Star Coral by Aveda. It's GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'll have to check it out! Thank you.

Glad you like it!
DeleteCoral lipstick is my fave!
ReplyDeleteHere's one that last for a long time: Josie Maran lip stain in Jive. I love it to pieces! :)
Thanks for the tip! I'll make sure to look for it.
Deletelove all of that!
ReplyDeleteamazing stuff.
Glad you like it!
DeleteLove everything! Spring is defo here :) We've just launched our spring lookbook at www.roamkix.com which you might like. Jess xx
ReplyDeleteThanks -- I'll check it out.
Deleteyay spring!
ReplyDeleteYay! Where's my maypole!
DeleteMontreal might be covered in snow, but I am determined to create my own version of Spring right this second... starting with peachy coral lipstick. I'm totally on the hunt for a bright matt pink.
ReplyDeletePS wicked illustrations by Natasha Nicole.
Apparently the Joe Fresh matte lipstick in fuchsia is amazing, but maybe that's not quite it -- what about NARS' Schiap? It's pretty dang bright!
DeleteThose two hills rings are exquisite, especially the first one!
ReplyDeleteYeah, they're so great! I really like the diamond-shaped one myself.
DeleteMAC lipstick in Vegas Volt is my absolute favourite coral, plus it smells like delicious Junior Mints! Thanks for sharing the best stuff, as per usual.
ReplyDeleteOooh, thanks for the recommendation!
DeleteThis is probably going to sound pretty strange, but I really did a double take when I saw the girl modeling the Wolcott:Takemoto lookbook. In this photo particularly, she could be my long-lost twin. Also, I had been considering buying a coral lipstick ("jealous" from Sephora), and seeing that photo pretty much sealed the deal.
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny! I can definitely see a resemblance based on the small photo.
DeleteI'm not really a 'sneaker's girl' but I really like the beige IM shoes!
