The blossoms photo on this record has me so excited for cherry blossom season (stream Washed Out’s Within and Without here; monitor High Park cherry blossoms here).
A rare occurrence: I let Geoff take my picture, as long as I was able to hide behind clouds.
So much mileage out of the two dozen roses that I bought weeks ago. I just can’t help myself when they’re around. This one was also taken by Geoff, so I suppose he also can’t help himself. He is a plant-loving Taurus after all.
A surprise gift from Bre. I have been wearing it every day. Soft spring silkiness.
Sova n°3: Golden.
More golden: Diana very kindly sent me a package of the Excel Desserts gum in flavours that we can't get in Canada, and included a package of Gold Edition film from The Impossible Project. So sweet! This film makes me think that Polaroid film should always have a gold frame.
I love the gold frame film too. It went on special over Christmas so I stockpiled it.

Oh, nice! I'm still a bit scared to use it. It's $3 a shot + shipping, yikes!
Deletei just read "totes by fieldguided" as a pun. it made me happy.
ReplyDeleteHaha. TOTES.
DeleteI love the gold framed Polaroid, really do, but I was so disappointed with the previous film I got from The Impossible Project. Let's hope they have this at my local store, it sort of seems to be too perfect not to try for once!
ReplyDeleteI was too. I liked the Softtone Spectra film, but I think in a pack of 8 (from the first pack I got) I ended up with one shot. The rest of the pack leaked developing fluid everywhere! I was able to get credit for it, but it still seems to be very much a work in progress. I'm happy to use Instax, but I do love these gold frames.
DeleteThose roses are stunning, I'd want to keep photographing them myself.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of you, this might sound odd but...I like your eyebrows!
Ha, thanks! It's funny, I actually hate how they look here even though you can't really see them. I need to get them fixed again.
DeleteYour flower photos are always so nice! How do you get so close? Do you use any close up filters?
ReplyDeleteNo, it's just the lens, I guess. I use a 50mm most of the time, which lets me get pretty close (although sometimes not as close as I'd like to get).
Deletegorgeousness for miles. happy spring, anabela
ReplyDeleteHappy spring, Sheila!
DeleteThanks for putting me in a lovely springy mood with these! :)
ReplyDeleteI just barely missed the cherry blossoms in Washington DC last year...maybe I'll try to make it down there this spring...
Oh yes, it seems that the ones in Washington are incredible.
DeleteThat gold Polaroid film! Makes me wish I had a camera worth putting it in...
ReplyDeleteEhhh, turns out that both of our SX-70 cameras are broken! I'm tempted to switch it and stick it in one of the non-fancy Polaroids.
DeleteThese are all so beautiful! Autumn's just arrived over here, and i'm already missing Spring. Look after her for me!
ReplyDeleteOh, I will! Happy autumn!
Deletei just discovered that the impossible films (well, two) are being stocked by urban outfitters, which is both exciting and expensive. don't think they have the gold yet, though.
ReplyDeleteas for the roses, i got myself some tulips and could not stop taking shots of them! maybe with the early spring the flowers are blooming better? hmm. :)
also, happy spring! because i keep forgetting that today's the first day...
Oh good grief, I bet each pack there is about $40! I could never do it. I'm having a hard enough time loosening up enough to use this pack that was a gift!
DeleteHappy spring!
I love that record. I have it, too. Makes you appreciate it so much more when it's on vinyl, for some reason.
ReplyDeletexo
Oh yeah, for sure. It's a beautiful one (I love the white vinyl), and since it came with free downloads I took the plunge.
DeleteThose roses are so beautiful in their white color..it's unbelievable how flowers can't make you (me) stop from taking pictures of them! I also wanted to tell you how much I love your redesign- it's exactly my like! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI agree, I just love them! And thanks, I'm so glad you like it.
DeleteSuch beautiful photos! You're so lucky the weather is so good where you are, I'm on the southern hemisphere and it hasn't stopped pouring with rain the whole week! x

Thank you!
DeleteSometimes, visiting your blog is like allowing myself to indulge in the very best side of beauty. I love everything about this post Anabela. I am very happy though, sitting here in Western Australia, that we're getting (slightly) cooler weather. So while you're enjoying Spring, I'm enjoying not sweating my little butt off for a change ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Hila, that is so lovely to hear. Thank you. It's funny, I associate you so strongly with northern England's weather that in my head, you are never sweating! Just adrift in fog, I guess. Ha! Hope that doesn't make you feel too misunderstood.
DeleteNot at all! I think that's very sweet. If only it were true, ha! Although, I suppose, in my head I am adrift in fog of thought ;)
Deletegold framed polaroids!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, right? And precious like REAL GOLD.
DeleteOh wow. I think I will have to splurge and pick up some of that gold framed polaroid film if it's still available. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think it is! If you click the link above you can see the availability right in the listing.
DeleteOk, everything here is beautiful... but oh my fricking god, you can get gold polaroid film?!! *sharp intake of breath, followed by quick googling to find some* ;)
ReplyDeleteYup! I linked to it in the post, although I'm sure by now you've found it.
Deletewhy you don't let people take photos of your face? you semms beautiful! nice pics!
ReplyDeleteThank you, but I always hate photos of myself!
DeleteObviously, these photographs are beautiful as ever!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteStunning photos, as usual! I love that fifth shot down where you can see the crepe texture of the roses, wow.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a beauty!
Aw shucks. Thanks so much! Yeah, I kept them around way past their due date, but I love the texture even of nearly dry rose petals.
DeleteI always leave my flowers around until past their due date. They're so hard to part with. Last week Jim looked at me changing the water of my three week old flowers and said, I don't think they need water anymore. They were pretty far gone, ha.
Deleteyeah washed out rules i like a lot.
ReplyDeleteSo good!
Deletewonderful and magic !
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOh how I love those rose photos... So so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt's so weird to see Washed Out's record. Greene was practically my bf's next door neighbor growing up.
ReplyDeleteFunny!
Deletewhat a gorgeous series of images, permutations of pale and gold, i love it. i like to hang cut flowers to dry, when roses bloom here i'll have to do that, even more mileage. x
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! And yes, that's a great idea.
DeleteBeautiful shots. I think there should be more shots of you, you're beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are very kind but I am not photogenic at all!
DeleteI love Washed out! I love your photos :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI am in love with your double exposures. I also have a Canon AE-1 and have a difficult time doing this correctly.
ReplyDeletelove this post. very much.
