I recently finally saw
I Am Love, a lavish and intensely beautiful film that I had been meaning to see since it came out. In a movie filled with enduring imagery, the one image I haven’t been able to shake off, beyond the incredible
opening title sequence, is one of Tilda Swinton’s character standing in a bathroom fully covered in marble. I just really love marble!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Sheila! Shiny things are hard to photograph when one is this impatient.
DeleteI watched I Am Love alone in the theatre. There's nothing like experiencing such intensity when there's no one to talk about it right after.
ReplyDeleteOh man! I bet! Although I didn't talk to Geoff about it afterwards, come to think of it.
Deleteyummmmm love marble! Those Vamoose earrings are at the top of my wish list.
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! I had been dreaming about them for ages and ages.
DeleteThese are beautiful, another film to go on my 'to watch' list.
ReplyDeleteYes, I recommend it! Definitely worth watching for the beauty of it alone, although I enjoyed the story.
DeleteWho knew so many lovely things could be said about marble? I especially love the cover of that magazine!

Glad you like it!
DeleteI love marble too, I think maybe because it's such a natural beauty and invariably exists in wonderful soft colours.
ReplyDeleteYes! That's it exactly. I also love marbled endpapers in books. Truly special.
DeleteWhat gorgeous marble findings, I have been eyeing those Vamoose earrings for a while so I may have to act soon! xx
ReplyDeleteOh yes! It feels pretty fancy to wear bits of marble on one's ears.
DeleteYeah, I really need to see it. I can't believe I haven't yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's on Netflix, if you have it!
DeleteThank you for reminding me about that movie. I watched it upon its release and I'm going to watch it again soon, streaming on Netflix. The scenes that remain with me the most are of the country garden.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, those scenes were gorgeous. I also loved the cooking parts, personally... I am a sucker for cooking scenes (Big Night is one of my favourite movies).
DeleteI watched it twice in the theatres a couple of years ago in Lisbon. Absolutely stunning that movie!
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
Deletegorgeous earings, makes me want hole in my ears
