marmora

I recently finally saw I Am Love, a lavish and intensely beautiful film that I had been meaning to see since it came out. In a movie filled with enduring imagery, the one image I haven’t been able to shake off, beyond the incredible opening title sequence, is one of Tilda Swinton’s character standing in a bathroom fully covered in marble. I just really love marble!

Faux marble statue on the cover of Acne Paper and editorial with marble floor / Venus scarf / redline marble and hammered brass earrings from The Vamoose / hilarious marble bonus: Mike’s Marbleopolis / “marmora” is Latin for “marble”

    1. Thank you, Sheila! Shiny things are hard to photograph when one is this impatient.

  3. I watched I Am Love alone in the theatre. There's nothing like experiencing such intensity when there's no one to talk about it right after.

    1. Oh man! I bet! Although I didn't talk to Geoff about it afterwards, come to think of it.

    1. Yes, I recommend it! Definitely worth watching for the beauty of it alone, although I enjoyed the story.

  7. I love marble too, I think maybe because it's such a natural beauty and invariably exists in wonderful soft colours.

  10. Thank you for reminding me about that movie. I watched it upon its release and I'm going to watch it again soon, streaming on Netflix. The scenes that remain with me the most are of the country garden.

    1. Oh yes, those scenes were gorgeous. I also loved the cooking parts, personally... I am a sucker for cooking scenes (Big Night is one of my favourite movies).
