The Met! I hadn’t been to the Met before and was glad we managed to spend about four hours there on our trip. What a wonder. We caught the
current show on Impressionism and fashion and met
Kaitlin there (loveliest!), so it was truly the best day. These pictures are from a few of the rooms that had brilliant natural lighting.
I posted this detail on Instagram but I just love it! This is a (relatively modern) statue of Sappho. My heart!
Your NYC photos are gorgeous! I just love the Met! I can't wait to visit again someday. Did you take these with your Canon a-1? What film do you usually use with that camera?
ReplyDeleteThank you! And yes I did (you win points for remembering my camera!). The film used here was Kodak Portra 160. On the last post the pictures were a mix of Canon A-1 and Olympus Stylus Epic, but the same type of film.
DeleteAwesome! Thank you! I used Kodak Portra 400 before so I will definitely give 160 a try. Your photos are always so lovely. :)
DeleteThanks! The 160 isn't so great for interiors but these rooms had near-outdoor light in them.
DeleteI love, love, love your NYC trip....
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and G had a wonderful adventure... :*

We did! It made me wish I was a bajillionaire though (although I'm pretty much wishing that all the time...)
DeleteGorgeousness - love the MET!
ReplyDeleteMe toooooooooo
DeleteOh your pictures make me miss New York terribly! I went to the Met during my honeymoon trip in October and I actually photographed those cute little acorns too, I just couldn't believe they were SO old!

I know, it's so crazy to think of how old some of the Egyptian things are. Glad you enjoyed.
DeletePretty photos!

Thank you!
DeleteThe images on your blog are always so so so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI've never been to the Met either! Next trip to NY? I think so!

Divine Time > my new travel and fashion blog!
Definitely worth setting aside a day or most of a day for it.
DeleteAh this brings back good memories of the one time I visited the Met, back in high school. Love the photos you guys took - that Sappho wreath is so special.
ReplyDeleteYes, essential high school trip stop! Thank you!
DeleteWe went to the Met for the first time when we were in NY last Summer and there was a crazy thunderstorm while we were in the room with the huge glass wall - it was incredible.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that sounds amazing!!
DeleteI love that crazy room with the water, it's so good. When we lived in NY, dalas worked as a guard at the Met, and I feel like a real idiot for not spending more time there exploring the space. It's so huge! Anytime someone would come to visit, we'd go there but would get stuck in the Egypt section for so long cause it was near the entrance (I think?).
ReplyDeleteI bet that happens a lot! I mean, we have talking for years about going to the Art Gallery of Ontario and it's just down the street and we NEVER go. Dumb!
