as above, so below

I have been a fan of the work of London-based wonderworker Louise Androlia for a while now (she made my wedding flower crown; for my birthday, I bought myself one of her astrology reports and referred to it often throughout the year; and I love her tarotscopes for The Numinous), and was excited when she started hinting at a jewelry line on Instagram. The line was released while I was in the hospital dealing with a medical emergency a few weeks ago, and I made a point to make sure to look at it in-depth once I was feeling better; pretty glad I didn’t file that one away in a medicated haze, because it’s beautiful!

The collection is called As Above, So Below, and is the result of a collaboration between Louise and jeweller Jessica de Lotz. Calling the pieces “modern-day talismans,” Louise writes:

A talisman is an object that is said to contain a magical element to bring good luck to the wearer. I like to believe that we are the co-creators of our own luck and that this collection brings the talisman to the present day – where you are your own magician. I believe in empowerment through self-awareness and self-knowledge and it is this message that I wanted our wearer to gain from their new treasure – Personal power and Embodiment.

As an Astrology enthusiast I was keen to bring my love for the stars to the pieces and so have designed from my heart artwork inspired by each sign. Astrology shows us that we are not victims of fate, but in fact, destiny is our partner in crime. I have also pulled in some of my favourite symbols to use and each piece comes with an empowerment sentiment and is set with a tiny crystal bringing unique gifts to the wearer.

The jewelry is made of plated or solid gold and silver, hand-stamped like a wax seal, and can be customized with astrological symbols and imagery. Some of the pieces have fun features, such as dancing hands, spinning seals, and winking eyes. Below are a few of my favourites.
